Costume Jewellery Care Guide

Costume Jewellery Care Guide

We want you to enjoy your jewelry pieces for as long as possible. While the costume jewellery is made with care and quality materials, it is more delicate than fine jewellery and requires a little extra love.

Here are our tips to help your jewellery stay sparkling:

1. Keep It Dry

Moisture is the #1 enemy of costume jewellery.

  • Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, or exercising

  • Avoid direct contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and hair products

  • If your jewellery does get wet, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth

2. Last On, First Off

To prevent fading or discoloration:

  • Apply makeup, perfume, and hairspray first, then put on your jewellery

  • Remove your jewellery before changing clothes or sleeping

3. Store It Right

Proper storage helps prevent tangling, scratching, and tarnishing:

  • Store pieces in a dry, cool place away from sunlight

  • Use a jewellery pouch or box with separate compartments

  • Keep pieces away from direct contact with other metals, which can accelerate tarnish

4. Clean Gently

To clean your jewellery:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down pieces after each wear

  • Do not use chemical cleaners or ultrasonic devices

  • For stubborn spots, lightly dampen the cloth with water (no soap), and dry thoroughly

5. Avoid Overexposure

The jewellery is designed for occasional wear. Repeated or daily use—especially with rings and bracelets—may accelerate wear on plating or finishes.

If you’re wearing your favourite piece often, consider rotating it with others to help it last longer.
